We have a prototype board using LPC4088 processor and with SDRAM device fitted. We also have an other device which is being addressed as static memory. We set up the EMC peripheral in the processor and initially the static ram device works fine. Then we ad the definitions for the SDRAM device, but this does not work and it seems to interfere with the static ram device. We can scope the CS lines of both devices and have seen that occasionally both lines are low at the same time! Surely this cannot happen?

My first question - is the LPC4088 EMC capable of controlling a SDRAM device and static memory device at the same time?

We have solved this problem. It turns out that the CS going to our external device was picking up noise, not genuine signal. So a simple filter close to our device has cured the problem.
