Hello, For a project I use the RF transistor MRFE6VS25NR1. According to the datasheet, pin 3 (source) is under the component and connected to ground. When I look the PCB examples, the transistor is placed over a cut out area. The pin 3 seems to be not connected to ground. Can you explain to me why? Thanks for your help.
The reference design has PCB board bonded to metal pallet carrier.
The leads are soldered to the PCB, and the source contact or the heat spreader is soldered to the carrier.
The carrier should provide low impedance path for heat flow and also low impedance for RF signal.
