Hi All, I'm trying to run CodeWarrior on Fedora 9 (maybe the source of my problem) and I'm getting a crash when I select any menu item such as File | New... or File | New Text File.  Here is the exact text dumped to the console:

gcc: 4.1.2
CodeWarrior_IDE: xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy->request)) >= 0)' failed.

IDE Version: 5.9.0 Build 2483 has crashed.
Fatal error (SIGABRT) caught in Process 8982 Thread 13432576

I've attached the dump file to this message.

Thanks!

This is very likely not the same issue as for the OP, that was about an issue on Linux.
There is a "File Open" crashes on XP (or Vista) issue known for older versions of the tools, its an incompatibility of the Win2000 compatibility mode and Microsoft's groove application (which is bundled in some of the MS Office packets).
Search this forum for groove for details

is a workaround provided by CrasyCat.

    Changing subject back to the linux issue - I've run into the same issue with Fedora Core 8, same error message in the original thread, running the 9.2 Linux Platform Edition for Mobile GT.

     Any resolution for running on FC 8? This is actually the 2nd workstation I've set up for development (different/worse/simlar failure on FC 10), hate to install another version just to have the same result...

     CW says it requires red hat enterprise 3 or 4, and doing a quick google search turns up the wikipedia entry for read hat enterprise - that says rhe4 is based on FC 3. So... does it for sure work on FC 3 then, and no other/newer FC version?

      Thanks in advance,

Hi again,

i also installed it on my Vista, and here i'm not having a problem.
But it would be great to make it work on my XP...
