We are working on phyCORE-i.MX6 UL

We need to do clear shutdown when a power failure occurs.

What is Low power domain (SNVS_LP) ?
What is the purpose of VDD_SNVS ?
Will VDD_SNVS give back_up to the processor to run applications?

Hello Nagamahesh Gamidi,

VDD_SNVS (Secure Non-Volatile Storage) is divided on HP (High Power) and LP (Low Power), and it is in charge of keeping the state during Low Power Mode, retaining the RTC and enabling anti tamper detectors. There is more information on Chapter 46 of the Reference Manual.

SNVS_LP domain is dedicated to hardware state-retention even when SoC supplies are removed. It can work out of a cell battery to retain the state even when out of power.

VDD_SNVS does not give back up to the processor power-wise.

I hope this information helps!

Regards,
