Urgent License Problems

Hi there,

A few months ago I was developing on an old desktop machine, and the license I have seems to have tied the installation to the (now defunct) hard drive.

I managed to move most of my work onto this laptop but of course CW refuses to accept the license.

Could anyone tell me, is it possible to transfer the license to the HD on this machine?  It's really annoying having it locked like this and it has cost me a lot of time.  Who would I contact to try and sort this out?

And just out of curiosity, does CW for Microcontrollers even work on Vista or am I wasting my time completely?

Many thanks,
Alan

Hello

You can re-host your license file to your new Hard Disk ID.
If you are using CodeWarrior MCU V6.x you should be able to re-host your license your self through the on-line licensing system.

If you are using an earlier release of the software, you need to contact our licensing department and ask for re-hosting.
Make sure to provide your registration number or Entitlement ID and attached the license.dat file you have been using on the previous Host PC.

On Vista Front CodeWarrior MCU V6.x is working on Vista.
Earlier release have not been validated on Vista and might not be working.

Thanks for the replies, I should have said I never bought the product it came from a colleague at Freescale and Yamuna arranged the license.

I'll see what else I can try.

Unless you are using the special edition or a floating license, the license is tied to your hard drive serial number.

Have you tried contacting the license dept:
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/overview.jsp?nodeId=0127262444119B

The latest version (6.2) works with Vista.  I tried it and it worked, but I dumped Vista due to so many other software problems.
