Trying to commission a gateway using my iPhone 5s but it won't list the WiFi options on the phone for that step.
Please confirm if 5s is supported with the app or not.
The iOS app is support for the iPhone 5S model.
The iOS application lists both Ethernet and WiFi as the network interface. When WiFi network interface is selected for commissioning, the application shows the SSID of the currently connected WiFi network and ask for credentials. If the mobile is connected using Mobile Data, the user will be routed to settings to enable the WiFi.
It looks like I don’t understand the overall configuration for what is connected to what.
I typically only connect my iPhone to WiFi when at home. At work I don’t usually connect to NXP WiFi but simply use cellular data.
Why do I need to have my phone connected to the NXP WiFi when trying to commission the gateway?
Wouldn’t I connect my phone to the gateway via Bluetooth directly or via the cloud using cellular data.
Please sketch out a basic diagram to show what is connecting to what between the gateway, the cloud, my phone, and NXP WiFi.
Please find the below sketch describing the connectivity.
There are two options for the gateway to provide internet connectivity, Ethernet or WiFi. And gateway commission is done via BLE from the iOS application.
