Hi, I wanted to know how the i.MX6UL handles the RTC. From the datasheet I seem to have understood that the RTC power consumption to be on is in the order of hundred of uA. In my PCB there is no space for a coin cell so I want to use a supercap to supply the RTC even when all system is off. The problem is that in this case the duration of the supercap is much lower than a coin cell because of the elevated RTC power consumption; so I want to ask if the RTC power consumption is really so excessive that I'm not allowed to use a Supercap.
Thanks
Hello Jacopo Agostini,
The RTC power consumption on the datasheet is correct and furthermore is a typical value, not the maximum possible RTC power consumption, which means it may be higher than that.
My apologies for the inconvenience.
Regards,
