Hi, I'm using the processor i.MX 6ULL. I have to communicate through the CPU USB line USB_OTG_DN e DP; so to do this I need to connect the 5V power supply to the VBUS line. Is it correct?
Hello Jacopo Agostini,
Yes, if you wish to use the USB module data lines you would need to supply the VBUS line. You may work as Host or Device (in which you may actually receive the 5V voltage from the USB host connected to the i.MX6UL).
I hope this helps!
Hi, thanks for the answer.
I read on the datasheet that the switchable resistors used to identify if the processor works as Host or Device, are embedded in the chip (1.5 kohm pull-up and 15 kohm pull-down). These switchable resistors are programmed via software or they automatically change status depending on the system type conncted, that is host or device?
You may force the USB OTG module to work in Host/Device trough these programmable resistors as you see fit. In most applications, however, a pin on the USB OTG connector allows the processor to detect whether the peripheral is meant to work as Device or Host.
