[MPC5777C] AN5288 STCU2 Quick start guide

Dear NXP Engineers,

I tested offline BIST in MPC5777C STCU2 with AN5288(rev0).

My system is applied 40MHz X-tal and Operating clock is 264MHz.

Also, My offline BIST case is

1. MBIST only, All partition.

2. Auto Mode

3. Operating clock : 200MHz

So It is same as "MPC5777C_offline_40MHzCrystal_PLL200MHz_3N45H_MBIST.cmm" case.

I did execute this cmm file and I could see UTEST area was wrote well.

But, Test result is fail.

1. ERR_STAT.WDTO is set to 1

2. All MBIST execution still ongoing (MBEL = 0, MBEM = 0, MBEH = 0)

Please give me advise.

Best regards,

JM

Hi,

I have tested and validated the AN scripts.

The one for 3N45H is working for me correctly with little modifications.

The BIST is really supplied by XOSC. So make sure you XOSC is 40MHz or modify the script STCU2_PLL_CFG for your XOSC frequency.

You can also use my script for 16MHz IRC if you want.

But for 50MHz you need to use XOSC as clock source for PLL.

Hi,

I won't make you happy.

I have tested it and also read the AN and I found some inconsistencies. But I am still not 100% sure as the MPC5777C is little different from other MPC57xx devices.

I have already wrote detailed guide for MPC5744P and MPC5746R along with examples.

The scrips provided along with AN5288 are also not working for me. Therefore I have wrote my own scripts for offline BISTs. However I need to do more tests as I expect that LBIST PCS, CRTL ans MISR are specific for each cut of device and the one used in AN5288 wasn't working for me.

I will share my scripts as soon as they will be working for me. I expect to work on this next week.

I also have to consult the clocking of BIST with authors of this AN as in my opinion the PLL must be created from IRC and not XTAL as AN describes. IRC is considered as safe clock, therefore it should be only clock for BISTS. (either as directly IRC or as PLL sourced by IRC).

I will share an update when I have a success with my scripts.

Hi Peter,

Did you test with MPC5777C?

I'm still waiting for your feedback.

Because as you know, If UTEST area wrote with STCU configuration data at least once, I can't modify with other configuration.

So I can't test and figure out this issue effectively.

Please test with your EVB or something and let me know what is wrong.

Best Regards,

JM
