MC33880: output voltage in disabled state

I am using the MC33880’s outputs as high-side switches to drive solenoids (2 watts each).
The solenoids are connected just like in the High-side Drive example (output S1/D1) of Figure 1. 33879 simplified application diagram of http://cache.freescale.com/files/analog/doc/data_sheet/MC33879.pdf (in the data sheet of the MC33880 High- and Low-side seem to be mixed up).

VPWR is 24 Volts.
Enabling these outputs works fine, but in disabled state the output voltage won’t drop below 4 volts and the solenoids won’t deenergize.
The solenoids will deenergize only below 1.5 volts.

Hello Sepp,

First off, let me apologize for such a late response. In order to find out where the problem might be, can you please post here your complete schematic to see your configuration?

Are you using all 8 outputs and is this behavior the same on all of them?

Can you also post here an oscilloscope plot illustrating this behavior?

Best regards,

Tomas
