What are the types and formats of Software footprint images supported by MPC5554 Processor ?
Which is the best one among all these in terms of size?
Hi,
Can you pls clarify the my doubts given in above
Which SREC format is the best? Or it is simply thee representation of the file.
S19-style 16-bit address record
S28-style 24-bit address records
S37-style 32-bit address records
If I plan to use S37 style in stead of S19 style, applying the same set of command for compilation, will there be any benefits in Size of the compiler output file?.
Is there any alternative format other than .ELF image file supported by MPC5554 processor?
Hi,
Are you referring to size of the file or size of the data in micro?
Customers usually use s3record file.
Peter
It is sort of that clarification. Basically we have S series of format in compilation and then produce ELF file format out of the S format specification.
My question is basically on which of the following types of the format that supports MPC 5554 processor platform and which one occupies the minimum memory utilization.?
Which is the best S format in terms of Size reduction?
Which is the best format of foot print image file having less size ?
Hi,
The size of output file depends on compiler optimization options.
This has nothing to do with output file format.
If you set compiler options to max size optimizations then you will get file which could execute code slower but its size is smaller.
I recommend you to always consult the compiler optimization with your compiler vendor.

Thanks.
Can I know the benefits of using SREC format.
