1. I am using a Solid Run Humming Boar Quad (imx6) dev board.

2. I am running the Solid Run officially supported / release of Debian Jessie mate 20170413, Linux kernel 3.14.79-fslc-imx6-sr

3. No additional Hw/SW

4. No changes to HW/SW

5, 6, 7, 8:

I am trying to adjust the screen resolution with xrandr to support 1024x768-60  resolution

I follow the normal sequence of :

   a. gtf

   b. xrandr --newmode

   c. xrandr --addmode

Step c above xrandr complains that the new mode is an invalid option.

The connect device correctly shows up as "DISP3 BG"

I have tried this with an HDMI monitor and a VGA monitor (using an HDMI to VGA dongle).

What is the correct method to change my screen resolution to support the application I will be using this board with?
