Dear All,

Please tell me how to process each pin under the following usage conditions.

Question 1:
condition: Boundary scan is not used.
Question: Should TDO pin, TDI pin, TMS pin, TCK pin be Open (N.C.)?

Question 2:
condition: SAM interface is not used.
Question: Should SCL pin (SCL2 23pin), SDA pin(SDA2 24pin) be Open (N.C.)?

Best Regards,

Hello Yasushi,

(1) If the pin is output, float it please!

(2) If the pin is input, pull it up to High(VDDIO voltage) with 10K resistor, please!

So you can handle those pins you don't wants to use according to above 2 items!

Have a great day,

Dear Wigros san,

We do not use SIGIN and SIGOUT as products.
Will processing of unused pins of SIGOUT which is Output and SIGIN which is Input follow the answer below?

>(1) If the pin is output, float it please!

>(2) If the pin is input, pull it up to High(VDDIO voltage) with 10K resistor, please!

Dear Wigros,

Thank you for your prompt response.

Please let me ask you a little more.

== Question 1 ==
- Background
TCK pin, TMS pin, TCK pin are input pins.
The data sheet has the following description.
"The internal pull-up resistor on the TCK pin is enabled."
"The internal pull-up resistor on the TMS pin is enabled."
"The internal pull-up resistor on the TDI pin is enabled."

It is described as "Pull-up resistance for TCK, TMS, TDI, IF 2" in "Characteristics" of the data sheet as follows.
      Rpu, pull-up resistance, min 50Kohm ; Typ 72Kohm; Max 120 Kohm

"Boundary Scan (bit 3)" of "Interface byte (address 0x21)" of "Configuration area (Page 0)"  of the EEPROM is described as follows.
"when cleared, the boundary scan interface is ON (default)"

- Question
Although TCK pin, TMS pin, TCK pin are input pins, I think Open (N.C.) may be better by the above internal pull-up resistance?
Or is it better to pull-up 10 Kohm to VDD(PVDD)?
### In your reply it was mentioned as VDDIO, but I thought VDDIO was VDD (PVDD).

== Question 2 ==
- Background
  SAM interface is not used.

- Question
SDA pin (SDA 2 24 pin) is Data Input/Output.
But since SAM Interface is not used, is it always Output?
