MfgTool2 and MAC addresses

I downloaded the mfgtool2.exe from the Solid-Run site ( ) and ran it. When it runs it programs the first two MAC octets as d0:63 on the iMX6.

Why is that? Is there anyway to change it? It appears that modifing the ucl2.xml code does not change it.

If it can not be changed then where can I get the bottom 4 octets so there will not be duplicates with other products?
