Question, 24MHz clock input for i.MX6Q

Dear team,

I would like to ask about 24MHz Clock input to i.MX6Quad.

My customer is trying to get 74.25MHz pixel clock of LDB.

From their configuration of clock tree based on 24MHz, the nearest value is 75.43MHz now. And they want to get closer frequency to 74.25MHz.

They have an idea for getting nearer pixel clock value is using 27Mhz instead of 24MHz.

The followings are the clock tree settings.

(*1) OSC(24MHz)PLL2(528MHzOSC×22)(1/7)75.43MHz

(*2) OSC(27MHz)PLL2(594MHzOSC×22)(1/8)74.25MHz

Of course, user must consider other impaction to the other clock source such as USB by changing to 27MHz. but could you show me whether one can use 27MHz instead of 24MHz?

Thanks,

Miyamoto

Hi Miyamoto

24MHz is not strict requirement and and 27MHz also can be used,

for example one can look at i.MX53 Datasheet sect.4.8 XTAL Electrical Specifications,

i.MX6Q has similar xtalosc module
