T2080RDB hwconfig Problem

Question asked by xiaopeng ma on Mar 8, 2017

It is noted that "If you plan to use optical 10G interfaces, you must add information to "hwconfig". This is important. The optical interface will operate erratically without it. It is easiest to do this using the U-Boot "editenv" command. Whatever you type will be appended to "hwconfig". The text you need to append is:;fsl_fm1_xaui_phy:xfi" in QorIQ SDK.

I noticed that the control and state signals of SFP+ are connected to the CPLD,

T2080 can access the CPLD through IFC or access the SFP+ through I2C directly.

Does "hwconfig = fsl_fm1_xaui_phy:xfi"  imply that T2080 should check the SFP+ states before using optical 10G interfaces?

Because in my custom board, the control and state signals of SFP+ are connected to the 10G PHY and T2080 cannot know those states.

Thanks.
