Really simple question from a hobbyist.  Is it ok to let SDO (serial data out) and the clkout float on the PCF2129 RTC if I'm not using either, or should they be tied one way or the other?  I'll be using I2C so don't need the SDO.

Thanks.

Hi Matthew,

The SDO and CLKOUT pins of the PCF2129 device are output functions.  It is okay to leave output pins floating.

Best regards,

Tomas

Hi, I have similar question, I won't use TS, SDO, INT and CLKOUT pins and ESD protection is very important on my side. What do you suggest for these pins connections ? I think it is better choice to connect them somewhere via resistors than letting float, but I need an advice here.
