LPC1114 MCU Settings configuration selection with different I/Os?

There are differences in available I/O between different packages of the same LPC1114/302 (as an example). So, a LPC1114FHI33/302 is in a 33-pin FQN with 28 I/Os, and a LPC1114FBD48/302 is a 48-pin LQFP with 42 I/Os.

The MCU Settings field only lets you pick the Part + series, like LPC1114/302; so how does the configuration know how many I/Os you can reference, utilize, etc.
