Hello,

i'm interested in MPXx4115: -115 to 115kPa Vacuum Integrated Pressure Sensor. My question is what does the  ( - ) sign means?

I'm looking for pressure sensor that goes down to 10^-6 torr (0.1333 mPa (millipascal))

does this fit my needs? if not do you provide other?

Thanks

Hello Basil,

The MPXV4115V is a negative gauge pressure sensor, so it measures how much the pressure is below local atmospheric pressure. This device is designed to measure „vacuum“ from 0kPa (atmospheric pressure applied to the sensor pressure port) down to -115kPa. Since the MPXV4115V is using the atmospheric pressure as reference, -115kPa can only be reached if the atmospheric pressure is higher or equal than 115kPa.

Best regards,

Tomas
