Hello,

I have a mx6dl sabresd customer board, when I changed all the pins and make uboot working, It can boot and starting the kernel but stopped at "Waiting for root device dev/mmcblk0p2...", please help me.

Is it a filesystem issue or my board HW not working? the Board I used is customerize from imx6dl sabresd. and boot it from a SD card.

Hi Wenming,

From the u-boot side I think there is no issue. It looks fine to me. But can you please share the pin muxing and device tree changes; you did in the kernel level.

In dtsi file card detect pin should be something like

MX6QDL_PAD_GPIO_1__GPIO1_IO01  0x1f059    /* CD */

Also please have a look in your device tree for the below details :

&usdhc1 {  // As you are using the mmc0 for SD card booting

cd-gpios = <&gpio1 1 GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW>;

bus-witdh=<4>;

}

Thanks,

Vinod

Hi Vinod,

Thanks for your help, I am no lucky.

The dtsi changes I done in attached,  modified the usdhc2 to usdhc1 at line 752, and the CD pin and WP pin is used GPIO_1_IO01 and GPIO_1_IO09 which I changed in the pinctrl_hog. Any thing missed please help.

Hi feng,

Please check your SD card detection pin and pin mux for the same (assuming your SD card partitions are correct).

Thanks,

Vinod

Hi Vinod,

Thanks for your response, the CD pin  we used is GPIO_1_IO01, and used as USDHC1_CD_GPIO.

#define USDHC1_CD_GPIO IMX_GPIO_NR(1, 1), I also checked the BOOTCFG2 0xe0,  and BOOTCFG1 0x42, for my start at SD card and with regular speed, 4bits bus, that is correctly. please help to point out steps to do or check pointers to get the root cause.

The SD card has two partitions following Installing Ubuntu Rootfs on NXP i.MX6 boards .  I also use buildroot to build the latest release  rel_imx_4.1.15_2.0.0_ga, then use the sudo dd if=sdcard.img of=/dev/sdx to get the SDcard.

static iomux_v3_cfg_t const usdhc1_pads[] = {
MX6_PAD_SD1_CLK__SD1_CLK | MUX_PAD_CTRL(USDHC_PAD_CTRL),
MX6_PAD_SD1_CMD__SD1_CMD | MUX_PAD_CTRL(USDHC_PAD_CTRL),
MX6_PAD_SD1_DAT0__SD1_DATA0 | MUX_PAD_CTRL(USDHC_PAD_CTRL),
MX6_PAD_SD1_DAT1__SD1_DATA1 | MUX_PAD_CTRL(USDHC_PAD_CTRL),
MX6_PAD_SD1_DAT2__SD1_DATA2 | MUX_PAD_CTRL(USDHC_PAD_CTRL),
MX6_PAD_SD1_DAT3__SD1_DATA3 | MUX_PAD_CTRL(USDHC_PAD_CTRL),
MX6_PAD_GPIO_1__GPIO1_IO01 | MUX_PAD_CTRL(NO_PAD_CTRL), /* CD */
};

Thanks!

Wenming
