I purchased SofTec inDART HCS 12 with IDB HCS12E board with Metrowerks CW revision 3

After CW installation, the dialog box comes for registering the product. After finishing all in dialog box it leads me to email

to  license@metrowerks.com or license_europe@metrowers.com but message comes that mail is not received.,check address .Unless I finish registration I cannot get  licence key .At present can use in limited code DEMO with maximum 32 files

I wish to use HCS stationary but I cannot use because of limited code.

Hi Ramesh,

Unfortunately, this board, software, and email addresses are really old.

I would like to recommend download CW version 5.1:

https://community.nxp.com/videos/5109

Note: The newest version of CW for HCS12 Rev. 5.2 no longer supports S12E family derivatives.

You may use evaluation version for 30 days. After that, the installation becomes Special edition with limited functionality (like limited code size). For more details about these limitations, please check CW Quick Reference Guide:

http://www.nxp.com/assets/documents/data/en/fact-sheets/950-00437.pdf

For obtaining a license, please create a service request/ticket:

https://www.nxp.com/webapp/servicerequest.create_SR.framework?regFlag=fromOpenSR

I suppose that you have PK-HCS12E128 board. This board contains on-board BDM debugger interface from SofTec. Unfortunately, SofTec interface driver is not supported by 64bit OS.

Authors of this interface terminated cooperation with NXP (Freescale) and henceforth they did not support this product.

There are possible solutions:

  1. Different BDM Interface. For example, P&E USB Universal Multilink Interface: http://www.nxp.com/products/identification-and-security/mifare-ics/mifare-desfire/universal-multilin...
  2. Different operational system. For example any 32bit windows.
  3. Install virtual PC, Windows XP Mode 32bit, Install CW, and drivers...

More details you can get from our application note AN3936 How to install and run Classic CodeWarrior products on 64-bit Windows 7 PC: http://www.nxp.com/files/soft_dev_tools/doc/app_note/AN3936.pdf

I would like apologize for that problems, but it was not caused by our fault.

I hope it helps you.

Have a great day,
Radek
