TJA1100 Test Mode 2 no 33MHz

Hi there again,

I would like to test the PHY in our application. Therefore I have to set the PHY in test mode 2. When I do so, the PHY suddenly gives out a 833kHz jitter instead of the expected 33.3MHz. could you pls tell me why this is so?

Do you have any further information using the PHY in the test modes instead of the rare infos in the datasheet?

We look up the OABR Specs V3.2 and other . There is nothing about the 833kHz. The provided test software expects the 33.3MHz.

Anyone can help with further information or sheets where the tests are described any further?

Regards

Jérôme

Hello Jerome,

Thank you for writing.

The velocity of the TJA1100 depends on the controller that you are using. Furthermore, it would be so helpful, if you could tell me how you connected the TJA1100, on MII mode or RMII mode.

Best Regards,

Diego.

Hallo Diegoadrian,

thank you for your reply.

We use athe qualiphy-enet-b from lecroy and the PHY is working in MII mode.

If we measure the bit rate not in test mode the speed is about 60-70MHz.

Switching the PHY into test mode 2 decreases the bit rate to approximately

833kHz.

We don't exactly know if the PHY is connected correctly because the

documentation from LeCroy isn't so good.

Are there about my further information from NXP available , how to test the

PHY correctly ?

We need this test for further development .

It's very important for us.

Regards

Jérôme
