Discussion created by Michael Norman Employee on Nov 6, 2016

Hi, All,

I wanted to make sure you were aware that, on Monday, Oct 24, 2016, NXP announced MCUXpresso Software and Tools – a common set of software and tools for development across thousands of Kinetis and LPC microcontrollers. The toolkit includes an embedded software development kit (SDK), an integrated development environment (IDE), and configuration tools (pins, clocks, software components and more).

Release Schedule:

  • MCUXpresso SDK – available now (as Kinetis SDK)
  • MCUXpresso IDE – GA release available March 2017
  • MCUXpresso Config Tools
    • Web version available now (as Kinetis Expert; new branding and added device support on November 11, 2016)
    • Desktop version available now (as Kinetis Expert; new branding and feature updates available March 2017)

MCUXpresso software and tools will support most of the Kinetis and LPC devices with the IDE, SDK, and/or Config Tools.  A complete list of supported devices is available in the MCUXpresso Community.
