Is the pin/pad CSI0_DATA_EN (iMX 6 Quad Core) only option to output ARM clock?

Is the pin/pad CSI0_DATA_EN only option to output ARM clock off from processor, to ensure that the core is operating at configured speed? Even if so, whether the GPIO is capable to do so? Because when we tried to output the clock via GPIO earlier, it didnt go beyond 400MHz!

please consider signals CCM_CLKO1, 2 with register CCM_CCOSR (output arm_clk_root)

described in sect.18.6.21 CCM Clock Output Source Register (CCM_CCOSR)
