KEA: Ultra-Reliable KEA Automotive Microcontrollers (MCUs) based on ARM® Cortex®-M0+ CoreHi Shen,

The S12VR, S12ZVL and S12ZVM MCUs belongs to so called MagniV family.

The S12 MagniV portfolio of mixed-signal microcontrollers (MCUs) is focused on automotive
applications and common thing is that they can use +12V battery voltage as supply.

The S12VR family is the first set of devices based on the LL18UHV process
technology in the portfolio. The LL18UHV technology combines the highly reliable 180 nm
non-volatile memory (NVM) process with modifications that allow the integration of high-voltage
analog components on a single piece of silicon. These analog components include an automotive
voltage regulator, LIN physical layer, low-side drivers, high-side drivers and inputs. By enabling
extensive analog integration on the MCU, developers can connect high voltage signals and power
supplies directly to the MCU in their design. The 12V devices are capable of withstanding the
rigorous requirements of the automotive environment (up to 40V), which can occur during load
dump conditions. The CPU core is 16-bit HSC12. Typical application is driving relay based DC motor in for example car window lift.

The S12ZVM family represent devices with integrated solution for 3-phase BLDC motor control applications. The devices feature integrated:

- FET pre-drivers so called Gate Driver Unit (GDU),

- PWM with Fault Protection (PMF),

- Current Sense Op-Amps

- Supply Voltage Sense (BATS) etc.

(and so using these MCUs reduces the cost and PCB space as some external components are not required)

S12 MagniV® S12ZVL Family Fact Sheet

The S12ZVL family represent devices with integrated LIN physical layer and thus these are used in typical LIN applications as LIN slaves.

On the other hand S12KEA is wrong part number. You probably mean Kinetis® EA series of 32-bit ARM® Cortex® MCUs which are targeted for a wide range of automotive and industrial applications:

ARM Cortex-M0+|Kinetis KEA 32-bit Automotive MCUs|NXP

Hope the information helps.

Have a great day,

Hi iggi,

First, thank you for your professional answer. And by the way,is there some S12ZVL Module Demo packages?

The second Development Board for MagniV® S12ZVL MCU is what I want, but I found very few Modules' Demo. And Part of this document is the AN4842SW.zip file containing S12ZVL32-USLED hardware and software files, the software files I couldn't find.
