Question, i.MX28 unused pins

Dear team,

I would like to ask about the handling of unused pins of i.MX28.

My customer is thinking about the use of i.MX28 without 32K Clock input into i.MX28.

In the case of not using 32K clock input to i.MX28, how should RTC_XTALO/RTC_XTALI pins be treated on the board?

(1)

Can RTC_XTALO/RTC_XTALI pins be left open?

(2)

In the following thread of i.MX community, I received the answer that unused pins (including HSADC and LRADC) if i.MX28 can be left unconnected.

https://community.nxp.com/message/538299

Could you let me know about the exact reason that those unused pins can be left open?

Thanks,

Miyamoto
