MPC5643l External Reset

Hi,

I'm trying to reset the micro via external reset, i.e. moving to low the RESET_B pin.

In the RM the external reset is classified as non destructive reset (in the same way as SW functional reset) so I expected that the RAM content will be preserved after external reset.

Instead I observed that the SRAM is no more initialized after an external reset and needs a complete initialization to avoid ECC errors.

I'm using a MPC5643l cut 3.1.

What is the expected behavior after external reset regarding data in RAM?

Thank you in advance

Best Regards,

Manuela

In case external reset SRAM content is damaged by memory BIST and must be re-initialized as well.
