I posted this in a reply to another thread but I thought I'd put it in it's own thread.  I want to power the EA baseboard externally from a 7.4v LiPo battery.  VIN has it's own pad, plus is isolated from the USB power supply, so I assume that is where external power is applied.  The problem is that VIN directly powers the RS485 transceiver and the common anode of the RGB LED, and the transceiver in particular has a max VCC of 5.4 volts.

Is there a regulated 5V supply on the board?  I didn't see one but didn't look that hard.  If not then maybe the fix is to power the LEDs and the transceiver from VBUS1 or VBUS2.
