I just received my LPCXpresso LPC1768 board today. I installed and registered Version: LPCXpresso v3.6.2 [Build 279] [29/01/2011] and then following the Quick Start attached the LPC-Link card to every USB port on my Dell Latitude D820 running Win XP PRO Spk.3.

I get a red blinking LED on the LPC1768 board, USB Device Not Recognized popup in Windows, and an "Unknown" for the port in Window's Device Manager. I originally installed LPCXpresso on my drive X: where I keep my embedded goodies so I installed it a second time on my C: drive just for kicks. Same thing happened. I uninstalled the instance on the C: drive. (Of course there were PC restarts in all the right (hopefully) places).

Can someone point me in the right direction please. TIA

In the first place, try a different USB cable and then check the following FAQ:

http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/LPCLinkNotFound

and the others at:

http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/CodeRedFAQ#DebugConnection

If these don't help, then try plugging your LPCXpresso board into different USB ports on your PC, and also make sure you are connecting the board directly to the PC and not through a hub.

Thank you CodeRedSupport. My problem was solved easy enough with your very first suggestion "...try a different USB cable...". I was using a brand new one to begin with and, unfortuneately, I didn't have another one to try until today.

Thanks again - I appreciate your quick resonse.
