SPI/SSP on LPC1115

I am quite new to LPCXpresso and I am trying to connect an inertial sensor to an LPCXpresso LPC1115 board via SPI/SSP and send the data to a PC via UART. The vendor (muRata) provides an example for an LPC1114 and now I am trying to set up the project with LPCXpresso v7.4.0_229.

The example only contains the source code (that uses some unknown "uart.h" and "uart.c" which are not included).

I have already tried to use parts of other example codes and I succeeded with "UART-only" examples such as "nxp_lpcxpresso_11c24_periph_uart". Those examples only include "chip.h" and "board.h", but as soon as I am using "LPC11xx.h" I failed with warnings like "implicit declaration of UARTInit()" etc. and other strange errors.

Can somebody please help me in setting up the example project correctly?! Thanks a lot!
