I am getting a 'No emulator or board available' while trying to debug in Windows 7 64bit.

I have done the following things in vain and now at my wits end... please help !!

1. Tried another board
2. Verified LPC11xx is selected MCU
3. Removed the USB DFU device and reinstalled with the drivers included in the LPCXpresso setup
4. Manually reset the MCU to ISP mode

I see others have also faced the problem but it is difficult to figure out what is the fix

I was able to get this working by running LPCXpresso as an administrator on Windows 7 64bit.

I managed to investigate and resolve the issue myself. I am documenting it here so that others can benefit.

I looked up the build log files in <workspace folder>\.metadata\.log and noticed the following error:
java.lang.Exception: Input Error: There is no script engine for file extension ".vbs".

I changed the file association for .vbs to WScript but the error did not go away.

A quick google-ing turned up this 3 step process
http://www.nilpo.com/2009/07/windows-xp/error-there-is-no-script-engine-for-file-extension/

Just follow the 3 steps and restart.

Voila ! the thing works now !

You did broke your board?:D

I was hoping that one of those would have been a possibility.

Can you post the exact error message you are receiving.

Also try running the following diagnostics.  Follow them to the letter and post the full results of each command back here.

http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/LPCLinkDiagnostics

CodeRedSupport will probably pick up from here later.

Hi GreenITguy,

Welcome to the forum.

Quite a few people, including myself, have installed and are running LPCXpresso on Win 7 64-bit without any problems.  You should not have had to uninstall the DFU drivers to get up and running.

Just a few questions to get the pump primed for everyone.:)

Is Win7 running native i.e not on a virtual machine?

Is your USB port powered i.e. not on an unpowered USB hub?

Is your LPCXpresso1114 standalone or are you using it with an EA base board?  If on a base board,  the base board needs it's own power.

When you installed LPCXpresso were you an Administrator?

Have you tried a different USB cable?

That should be enough for now.  I really need to write a script for this.:)

Answering these will help all of us understand what you are working with.  We're all in different timezones and we come and go frequently.

Larry
