Hi,
I just got started trying the small LPC800 board.
Uploading .hex files works perfect but I'm wondering
how to debug a program using LPCXpresso .?

When I use the debug button I'll get an error
saying "No compatible emulators available".

I guess I need additional hardware to connect to
the 10-pin plug? What additional hardware/software
do I need?

Thanks a lot for helping a beginner.

As you say you are using LPCXpresso, you may find the LPCXpresso forum as useful place to look for help. In particular this recent thread may be of interest...

To actually debug an LPC810 with LPCXpresso though, you will basically need either an LPC-Link (from an LPCXPresso board), or an LPC-Link2.

It's the LPC800 Mini-kit:

Which board do you mean by "small LPC800 board"?

You need a suitable JTAG/SWD interface. I used a Rowley CrossConnect with the SWD adapter with their CrossWorks compiler and debugger.
