Hi all,

I'm planning to design an industrial robot which should have a position feedback from multiple axises (minimum of 3) and control them by servo motors, So I have 2 questions:

1. Since LPC microcontrollers have only one QEI, is it possible to decode multiple quadrature encoders by LPC43xx SGPIOs and SCT?

2. Is it possible to generate sophisticated motion pulses to feed servo drivers by SGPIOs and SCT?

Any help appreciated,
Reza

Hi,

There is a AN from NXP about interfacing camera to MCU by means of SGPIO, since decoding camera pulses is more complicated than quadrature encoder, It seems the answer of my above question be positive. Nevertheless I'd like to know your opinion.
