Hi LPC community,

The question I try to ask might look trivial but I'm quite new to LPC family and ARM processors in general.

In my project I'm planning to use EMC module to control SDRAM and nothing else. This leave some EMC lines not used. Can I use those lines for other purposes simply setting pin function in IOCON register? For example. I would like to port SSP1 module to pins P4.20 to P2.23 (used also to control EMC_A[20] to EMC_A[23]).

Thank You for any advice,
mtesmer

Hi,

Each of the GPIOs are multiplexed with different functions . So  if some of the pins are left unused , you can use them for other functions as per the user manual.

Hence, if the pins P4.20 to P4.23 are not used for EMC addresses EMC_A[20] to EMC_A[23], they can be used for other functions.

Thanks,
