Hello!

I have brought two LPC1756 Microcontrollers. I tried to program the chip using the circuit in the attached file.

Unfortunately, the controller gets shorted whenever i supply 3.3V to it.

There is no short between any pins.

I couldn't find any reason for the short circuit, as i even tried connecting only the VDD and VSS pins to the 3.3V power supply.

Please help.

Regards,
C.Sathyan

@LabRat, Yes you are right!

I soldered the chip in wrong orientation!

I desoldered the chip and reassembled it. Now It's working fine.

Thanks a lot.

Are you using a board, too?

Sounds like soldered in with wrong chip orientation...
