I connected my thumb joystick to the ADC pin of a LPC1769 board, and used the pin to read the value of the joystick. The value I read will change according to how i move the joystick.However,if i move it to the right, the up value changed. why? is it because my joystick has broken? looking forward to your reply.(the other directions are all correct)

Are you using multiple ADC channels - each for one direction?
If this is the case, you could exchange directions and ADC channels connection to see if a particular ADC channel is the issue or the joystick has issue in that direction...
Please give more details of your system configuration.
