Latest Code Rev for Compiler

Could someone tell me what the latest revision is for the Code Warrior Development Studio for HC(S)08?  I have maintenance that will run out in a few days and I wanted to be sure I had the latest revision.  My current version is 5.7.0 Build 2015.  When I looked at the downloads and patches area, I saw what looked like updates for 3.1, 5.0, 5.1, then "Code Warrior for Microcontrollers" v6.0 and v6.1.  So what version can I get as my latest?  6.1?  Do I need to install any interim releases or can I just go right to 6.1?  Thanks in advance for help. -- Lou

Latest is CodeWarrior for MCUs 6.1 which includes the HC(S) family. I don't think you can upgrade straight from HC(S)08 5.1 direct to CW for MCUs 6.1. That's a major version step, with a lot of things changing.

Best bet: Fire up the CodeWarrior Updater application and let it find out what patches and updates are applicable to your version of CodeWarrior. Usually this app is installed on Start menu, like CodeWarrior itself. So, you'd pick:

Start > Programs > Freescale CodeWarrior > CW for HC12 V4.5 > CodeWarrior Updater

"Start > Programs > Freescale CodeWarrior > CW for HC12 V4.5 > CodeWarrior Updater"

I tried that and all it told me is that my current product (v5.7.0) has no updates.  "There were no updates found for any of your installed products".  It's like it is locking me out of v6.1.   Any clues?

It confirms what I mentioned in the earlier post. The version 6.x release is a major upgrade, which can't be slapped onto a 5.x implementation. Your options are:

1) If you're satisfied with version 5.x, then you have all of the latest updates. You're set.
2) If you want version 6.x, you're going to have to pay an upgrade fee. Or download the Special Edition of V6.x and live within its limits.

Well what does a maintenance contract give me?  If I got a 5.x product the maintenance does NOT let me get 6.x?  I know some contracts are written to not include major upgrades.  If that is the case, is there anything that tells me what is new and improved in 6.x over 5.x?

What else is weird is my co-worker has the same compiler, version 5.8.x.  Why would CodeWarrior Updater tell me my version (v5.7.0) was up to date when he has a newer rev?  Doesn't make sense.

I'm not sure that there isn't a problem with the updater.  I know there are updates avaliable for some of the versions of CodeWarrior I use but the updater is not finding them.

As I don't know what kind of contract you have, so I can't speak to what it provides. You need to take that up with a Freescale representative.

Check this page for the features in CW V6 for MCUs.

Check this page for updates to CW 5.1. You might want to try installing one of the latest service packs manually.
