FEC driver bug explanation

Hello, dear Freescale!

Can you explain a bug with system failure under high network load?

I'm using i.MX287 with two ethernet controllers connected with bridge

On kernel 3.18 (OpenWRT) I catched NETDEV WATCHDOG warning and kernel oops while iperf testing (log.txt).

But when I backported your driver from 4.4.7 to 3.18.29, bug disappeared.

3 files was changed:

  • fec_main.c
  • fec.h
  • fec_ptp.c

What/where is the reason of the failure?

Thanks in advance.

Vladimir.

Hi Vladimir

suggest to post that on linux mail list since nxp does not officially

support i.MX28 for 4.4.7 or 3.18.29 kernels. Supported bsps are located

on official web product page

i.MX28 Evaluation Kit|NXP

Best regards

igor
