Please let me know if WEC7 BSP for i.MX6Q supports MP4 version 2 codec?
I know that NXP doesn't support on WEC7. But I just want to know if current WEC7 BSP supports MP4 v2. Anybody please clarify.
Adeneo Engineering Team, witekio, Can you please answer the question from Keshava.
Keshava, I can only mention that Multimedia Package for Linux/Android BSP includes the MP4 codec, so I Believe that it is a problem for WINCE, but let the Adeneo Team to answer since they are the partners in charge of the WINCE BSP.
Our recommendation would be to test the codecs that are provided in the WEC release and see if they work for your specific video. There are some known issues with The NXP codecs included in the WEC7 BSP. If the codecs do not work as expected we would suggest trying the MSFT soft codecs for MP4.
From what we know, currently there is not a formal roadmap for an update of these codecs as the full source of the codecs and parsers, both new and old, are not fully available. That said it could be possible to work around the binary parts of the driver but it would require non-trivial amount of effort to do so. If you are interested please contact Adeneo Embedded directly for a commercial proposal.
