Question, SD Card booting for i.MX6SoloLite

Dear team,

I would like to ask about the SD Card booting used for i.MX6SoloLite.

My customer is using your cfimager-imx tool to make SD-Card for i.MX6SL boot.

From the messages which cfimager displays, they think cfimager writes MBR and its partition tables other than boot-image. Before they use cfimager, they thought the boot image written at the 2nd sector of SD-Card is needed but MBR and partition table is not necessary.

Can I understand that appropriate MBR and partition table are needed for SD-Card as boot device?

Thanks,

Miyamoto

Yes, an SD card should have the valid MBR to use it as a boot media for i.MX6 series processors. For more information, please refer to the Sections 4.3 and 4.6.1 of the attached document.

Have a great day,
Artur
