Hello,

Where should I connect the thermal pad of the K10 QFN 32 package. Should I connect it to ground plane because data sheet does not mention any thing. If I do not use both RTC and normal external oscillators and just use the internal clock then where should I connect these pins. Can I leave them unconnected? Is there any performance difference if I do not use external crystal oscillator?

Hi Tair

For the thermal pad please check the application note AN1902

For the pins the recomendation is For the Kinetis family it is recommended to leave unused pines floating and configure them as disabled.

Please also check the AN4470

Is there any performance difference if I do not use external crystal oscillator?

the difference is that with external oscillator you can have a more accurate clock frequency if you use a better oscilator than the internal clock, also in some configuration you will have a low power consumption
