After a couple of hours running SNMP traffic, the DTSEC only reports DROPPED packets.
Could this be the result of a FIFO overflow/buffer management issue?
What steps should be taken to help diagnose the cause and/or prevent it from occurring?
Thanks!
Is there a control/status register somewhere that might help pin down the problem?
RDRP os a low-level conter, it increments for any dropped frame.
There is another counter, RODC, which counts frames dropped due to
no buffer condition. See DPAARM, Section 8.4.4.3.33. Note that Fman
can be configured to send pause frames when it detects a buffer pool
depletion, see Section 8.4.6.18.3. For other error types that may
cause frames to be dropped see Sections 8.3.7 and 8.4.6.18.
Registers that can help in finding the root cause of the problem
are FM_EPI and various BMI statistic counters, see Table 8-42, offsets
from 0x200 and the corresponding register description.
Have a great day,
Platon
