Hi, I have a problem with CodeWarrior debugging (DSP56800E). It stops the application in some random lines of code (each time when I run it, they are the same). The breakpoint list is empty. I did not change any settings - it just happened after one of compilations. It's not fault of the USB tap (i checked the program on two of them - it's the same on both) and it's not because of problem with Code Warrior (I run the project on other PC with CW - and it's the same). It seems that something is wrong with the project settings. I don't feel like creating a new project, because I use plenty of files and beans (around 130 files and 30 beans), and it would take forever to create a new project with them. So I have two questions: 1. What can I do to get rid of the invisible break-points? 2. Is there any way how to export ALL the beans and the files structure to another project? Thanks! Bartek

Hi,

All breakpoints should be listed in the breakpoints dialog.
Do you reproduce the same behavior with the simulator ?
Is it possible to provide us the project ?
Do you use an eval board ? which one ?

Probably it will be better we investigate the problem via the CRM system.
I suggest you to log your request to the Freescale CRM system.
Please use Freescale on line support web page.
  - Go to following URL: http://www.freescale.com/TechSupport
  - Click on Submit a Service Request. You will come to a login page.
  - You can submit your request through the web from there.
Please provide us more details about the Tool version used.
To do that you must:
* CW:
Start the IDE and click on Help | About Metrowerks CodeWarrior.
Click on Installed Products
Provide us all info displayed.
Or you can save them in a txt file.

Hi Pascal,

Thanks for the immediate response. To answer your questions:
- problem does not occur when using simulator.
- I am not allowed to provide you the project.
- I use home-designed PCB with DSP56f8366 MCU
- The system info (basic):
Installed Products:
CodeWarrior 56800/E Hybrid Controllers version 7.3
ROHS USBTAP Update v1.0, Build 60405
IDE Version: 5.6.1.1658

I'll try the CRM too...

Regards

Hi,

just for your info:
Freescale 56800/E Digital Signal Controllers Version 8.2 is available
You can download this version on our web site via the link:
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=CWS-568-CX#
The Special edition license is installed by default.
If you need another version of the license please contact your local distributor.
You can have several versions installed on the same PC.
There is only one restriction: install them on separate folder.
If you're using an old version, please backup your project before to try it with this new version.
If you will meet some compatibility issue you could back to the older version without problem.
