Hello,

For S12X, what is the difference between First Bank(CANIDAR0-7) and Second Bank(CANIDAR4–CANIDAR7)?

Hi Shuchun,

There isn’t any significant difference between first and second filter bank except rule in identifier hit flags (CANIDAC_IDHIT[2:0]) – If more than one hit occurs (two or more filters match), the lower hit has priority.

The Identifier Acceptance Filters are independent.

BTW: I suppose that you mean First Bank(CANIDAR0-3)

The Identifier Acceptance Filters could be configured to:

1.    Two 32bit filter banks,

2.    or four 16bit filter banks,

3.    or eight 8bit filters.

Tested are the full identifiers or the most significant bits from identifier (and RTR, IDE, SRR bits) when identifier is longer than filter.

I hope it helps you.

Have a great day,
RadekS
