How do you install KSDK 2.0

I tried extracting the zip to a folder called C:\freescale\KSDK_2.0

Next I tried to create a PE project, but PE was not able to find the folder.

Can anyone explain the correct way as the "getting started guide...." just says,

  1. 5.2.1 Windows® and Mac® OS instructions
  2. 1. After installing KDS, check for available updates…..

Hi therealfreegeek,

The steps required for Mac OS are identical to those for the Windows operating system.

The only difference is that the IDE looks slightly different.

So it means this table of updates

agree with conditions and update it

Please, are you successful at this or do you have any problem with MAC platform?

Thanks,

Hi, I have KSDK 1.3 successfully working with KDS under windows, my question is regarding how to make Processor Expert work with KSDK 2.0.

Short answer is Processor Expert is not supported for KSDK_v2.

Longer answer:

A new set of online tools called Kinetis Expert replace much of the PE functionality.

Please review: Kinetis Design Studio V3.x with Kinetis SDK V2.0

Dave, thanks for the update.

I really do think it would be a good idea and only fair to Kinetis users for NXP to publish an enablement strategy for Kinetis.

Having only come back to Kinetis in the last couple of months, it seems like there has been change upon change upon change over the last couple of years which will drive loyal customers away. I have not been burned but I am sure there are a lot out there who have.

I have only just started to build my project over the last couple of weeks using KSDK 1.3 and PE, I will now scrap this and start again with 2.0.

However as I'm trying to get the University I work for to adopt Kinetis, I am now really worried that 2.0 may end up getting deprecated in 6 months for something else, leaving me look like an idiot.

Good (relative terms) observation that our enablement has gotten a bit fluid.

Our hope is to stabilize the environment to cause less stress for one and all.

Your feedback is welcomed and I will pass it along to our enablement team.

Feel free to contact me offline if you would like to get a University contact.

David

Konstantin,

I had to fill in additional data on my user account (there was a message/dialog asking for that on the SDK generator site).

Make sure you have filled in that data, or I think this might block the download.

I hope this helps,

Erich
