Simulator/Debugger & License File questions on CW for HSC12(X) v4.6, build 6345

I'm using CW for HSC12(X) v4.6, build 6345 and have a couple of questions.
1) When I run True-Time Simulator & Real-Time Debugger I have to close out the entire instance before I run another instance.  If I forget to close out the previous instance I will get a hardware error and have to close out both instances and run the True-Time Simulator & Real-Time Debugger again.  Is there anyway to always have the same window that is open to just update with the new information?

2) I have a new version of CW with a current license file on my PC but is it possible to load an older version of CW on my PC and use the existing license file?

Thanks in advance,
Christina

Hello

1- How are you starting the debugger?
From the IDE? From the command line? From the explorer window?
Which is the command line you are using to start the debugger (if you start it from
the IDE you can see the command line in the "Build Extras" panel).
I did perform some tests on my side and working from the IDE, I can connect to the
same debugger again without any problem.

2- Which versions of the tools are you refrying to when you say new and old version?
Answer here really depends on the versions you are using.
    New version is probably V4.6.
    What is old version?

Is there any reason you cannot work with one single version of CodeWarrior?

1) I start the debugger from within the IDE by clicking on the the green arrow with the bug icon.  In my "Build Extras" panel located under Edit>>P&E Multilink CyclonePro Settings>>Build Extras, I have the following under "Arguments": %targetFilePath -Prod=%projectFileDir\P&E_Multilink_CyclonePro.ini -instance=icd12.  From documents I've read, this statement should allow the debugger to open up the same instance but my debugger opens an entirely new debugger window.

2) The new version I am running on my PC has a license file that says "HC12 V4.6 Special Edition." The other version I would also like to install is HC12(X) v4.5 Service Pack XFR128, build 060515 with license file "(740): HC12 v4.5 Professional Edition.  The reason I'm asking is because another co-worker has an older version and he can not view my files from the new version and I'm getting errors on his version when I open his files with my version. So I was hoping to have one computer with all versions represented.

Thanks for responding to my last post and I hope this makes my questions a little clearer.

Hello

1- I have the exact same command line. And starting a new debug session uses the same instance of
   external debugger.
I would recommend you to submit a service request for that.

Click here to submit a service request.

Make sure to attach a reproducible project and installed product information to the service request.
To generate the required information:
- Start CodeWarrior
- Open the project
- Select "Help" -> "Pack and Go" and follow instructions on the screen.

Attach the generated .zip file to the SR. Also provide exact reproducible steps with the SR.

2- If you take a CodeWarrior for HC12 V4.5 professional license it should allow you to use both CodeWarrior for HC12 V4.5 and V4.6.
