I think the topic describes my problem..but here's some additional..

I loose all my "view panes" if I happen to double click on a source file in the C perspective, the File I did this to goes full screen, which would be OK, but problem is I can't get back to seeing all the view panes I set up. I can click the small icons on the left get most of the pains I like back, but I have not found a reproducible way to get the Console pane stuck back at the bottom where I like it..I can bring it up by selecting from Window>show View, but it floats on top, and as soon as I click outside of it, it's gone.

Obviously I'm just a beginner, and it's probably something simple, but it's frustrating..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Hi Erich,

My context menu only has Close, Close others and Close all..

But I did find a way to restore it..Window>Show View>Console, it pops up

on top of the other windows, then at the very right of the window,

select "restore" and it pops back to the bottom. It has the tabs:

Problems, Console, Search, Memory and Target Tasks.

Thanks for the assistance!

Hello,

it sounds to me that you have 'detached' the view from the main window? This is feature you can move views outside the main window (e.g. to a separate monitor). See Go, multiply and detach: Multiple Screens with Eclipse | MCU on Eclipse

You would have to drag the view back to the place you want.

I hope this helps,

Erich
