FXOS8700CQ Magnetometer Not Outputting Values

I'm currently getting to grips with the FRDM-K64f board and am attempting to access the onboard FXOS8700CQ chip to calculate orientation information. I've managed to get the accelerometer information fine, but the magnetometer isn't updating the output registers. I've pored over the example code for a couple of days and can't see anything that I've missed. Attached is the main.cpp file from the mbed compiler, can anyone help?
