Could MC34844A reach 60V output?

Dear Sirs:

I would like to work with the MC34844A under the following requirements:

  • Vin = 12V
  • Vout = 60V
  • Ioutmin = 0,3A
  • Ioutmax = 0,6A
  • For dimming a 3V PWM is using with a variable frequency depending on the specific application.

Is is possible to reach such voltaje we made several tests but we never reach more than 47V and we are not sure we can fron the datasheet data.

If 60 V( and current mentioned) are reachable please let me know the values of:

L

Cout

Ccomp1

Ccomp2

Rslope

Rpcomp

Rccomp

Thanks in advance

Hi Jorge,

Yes, you can reach up to 60V output with the MC34844A, but not with a VIN of 12V, you would need an input voltage of 28V (with an Iout typ of 0.4A) with the following components values:

L = 120 uH

Cout = 47 uF

Ccomp1 = 8.6 nF

Ccomp2 = 99.5 pF

Rslope = 216 Kohms

Rcomp = 5.6K

Have a great day,
Jose
