our strategy is to recommend the ballast transistor based on complex simulation results. We do not provide specifications that the transistors have to meet. Instead we specify specific transistors to use.
Customers are allowed to choose their own part, of course, but it’s at their own risk.
We received many requests from customers regarding ballast transistors to use but we do not have sufficient design resource available to simulate all of these. So, we strongly recommend to use the transistors mentioned in datasheet.
